Colosso

Melbourne Brighton Padel Club

The first permanent home for Colosso, where padel meets lifestyle.

Colosso asked us to design their new padel club in Brighton, Melbourne, Australia. The brief focused on transforming a former bowling club into a functional and energetic home for local padel players — a place that could support training, community and play in equal measure. This project builds on our ongoing partnership with the team, having previously designed their pop-up court at the Melbourne F1 GP and in parallel designed another smaller club at Melbourne Westfield Southland.

Our role included space zoning, consumer flow, signage and interior design, shaping the space into a cohesive and characterful environment.

The aim was to create an environment that felt easy to navigate and welcoming from the moment you stepped inside, ensuring there was a seamless flow between the spaces.

The area needed to hold six padel courts, a reception area, an open lounge with seating, changing rooms and optional gym space depending on final build decisions.

An existing industrial shed evolved into the Colosso Clubhouse — the heart of the experience and the social anchor of the site.

The Clubhouse includes a welcome desk, bar, changing rooms with showers and lockers, restrooms, and provision for gym equipment should the team choose to integrate it during future expansion.

Opposite the courts, lounge chairs create a relaxed viewing area where visitors can sit, take a moment and watch matches unfold.

The atmosphere had to feel open, welcoming and slightly elevated — a blend of sports functionality and community warmth. Clear signage and wayfinding helped the ease and functionality within the various spaces. Brand cues extend directly onto the courts, with line systems, colour accents and boundary treatments that strengthen the Colosso identity.

Our spatial design succeeded in producing multi-functional and practical concepts, incorporating the essence of the Colosso brand, whilst building a sense of community.
