We’re pleased to present the latest edition of The OG magazine, which recently launched in Chicago during Expo Art Fair. Working alongside our sister company Against Time, we continue in our role as designers of Edition 06: Process & Practice.
Ché Morales and Meredith Shepard of The OG introduce the edition:
“The product we consume at a gallery or a restaurant, a show or a shop, is the end point of its creator’s process and practice. How did it get made? This is the deceptively simple question we pose in Edition 6 of The OG. Our theme, “Process and Practice,” yields responses as divergent and innovative as the visionaries we feature. We are as interested in the micro processes of craft as we are in the macro theories of practice. Peeling back the layers of how and why a visionary does what they do helps us to understand what their vision means. In an era that remains hysterically devoted to façade, we delve deep to the foundations and blueprints. There, in the muddy trenches of craftsmanship, we celebrate the processes and practices that bring visions to life.”
This edition’s design goes further than ever into giving each article its own distinct look and feel, expressing the emotion of the artist’s work, while allowing space for the contributors to remain the focus and staying cohesive as a whole.
Contributors include: Candida Alvarez, Ed Tinoco, Alicia Gutierrez, Notre, Devan Shimoyama, Arghavan Khosravi, Tony Matelli, Brenda Equihua, Easy Otabor, Ed Marszewski, Umar Rashid and Tony Karman.
Edition 06 is now available at Notre and the MCA in Chicago and online here.
